Important things to consider.....

Once you become engaged and the novelety has worn off it time to consider a few things. My first suggestion is to decide on a theme be it beach, western, romantic, or lavish, etc. Then the hard part a BUDGET!!!! Maybe the two can be reversed because maybe your BUDGET will dictate the theme of your wedding. After that then you need to decide on a date followed by a venue(s). Whether you use a church for the ceremony or a separate venue for both timing is everything. Once a date had been selected get busy booking your location especially if you are getting married during wedding season. Wedding season begins in May and goes through September. Also if you are a flexible couple weddings are cheaper on Friday's and Sunday's and even cheaper during the week. Because of this very reason vendors know that everyone wants to get married on Saturday's. If you are the type of couple who has always wanted to have a destination wedding all I can say is TIMING IS EVERYTHING! Whether you want to be state side or in some tropical paradise be considerate of others you may want to participate or attend the wedding.

Once you have taken ALL these things into consideration, then it is time to begin the next phase.....Timeline and count down to WEDDING DAY!

Introduction

Planning a wedding a can become a headache or wonderful experience. I have had the opportunity to plan two of my own. Both similar while yet still being very different, I had not realized that the differences reflected both sides of me. I enjoyed planning both of them and it was a learning experience from one to the other. My first wedding was what most little girls envision, you know “the fairy tale wedding.” I had the large wedding party, limos, and lots of flowers, big cake and everything else you could imagine. My second wedding was smaller, more intimate and very romantic. That is not to say that I didn’t have the flowers, wedding party and big cake; it was just a different atmosphere that was portrayed. Because of doing such a large an extravagant wedding the first time, I learned a lot of do’s and don’ts. I learned where to be practical with money and where I could splurge.
I have now begun to transition those skills to planning weddings for other people. Well, if the truth be told I have been helping with wedding planning for years. When I was younger I would help my mother, aunt, and/or godmother with other peoples wedding at our church. I guess this is where my interest and passion for weddings came from. I could watch Father of the Bride 1 & 2 and The Wedding Planner till the movies would not show anymore. That is just how much I love weddings.
I am now in the process of planning 3 weddings, one this coming October with the other two next year in May and November. Each bride wants their wedding day to have a uniqueness about it and that is where I come in to help create their special day.
